Covidien - BIS VISTA monitor

The Covidien BIS VISTA is a portable brain-monitoring system that displays the BIS Index — a processed electroencephalogram (EEG) value ranging from 0 (deep hypnosis) to 100 (fully awake) — to guide anesthetic depth during induction, maintenance, and emergence. The monitor receives raw EEG data from a sensor applied to the patient's forehead and displays the calculated BIS value, signal quality index, suppression ratio, and waveform on a 5.7-inch color LCD screen. It is used in operating rooms, procedure rooms, ICUs, and transport settings to titrate sedative and anesthetic agents and to assess consciousness in mechanically ventilated patients. The unit accepts BIS Quatro, BIS Extend, and BIS Pediatric sensors. Alarms are user-configurable and alert to changes in BIS value or signal quality. Trend data and event markers can be exported via USB or serial port for inclusion in patient records. Power is supplied by AC mains or an internal rechargeable battery (approximately 4–6 hours typical runtime).
