The Philips HeartStart OnSite is a defibrillator designed for use by lay rescuers and first responders in out-of-hospital settings. The device guides the user through resuscitation of a suspected sudden cardiac arrest victim using real-time voice commands and visual prompts. It includes Philips SMART Pads, which provide feedback to the device to adapt voice instructions to the user's actions and CPR pace—repeating or rephrasing instructions as needed. The unit ships in Ready-Pack configuration with the battery and defibrillation cartridge pre-installed and Adult SMART Pads cartridge loaded. Pediatric use is supported through the optional Philips OnSite Infant/Child Pads Cartridge (M5072A).
