BD Alaris 8100

The BD Alaris 8100 is a large-volume IV infusion module for the Alaris PC Unit infusion-pump platform. It delivers fluids, medications, and blood products at programmable flow rates (0.1–999 mL/h, subject to drug library limits) with ±5% accuracy. The module attaches to the Alaris PC Unit tower alongside other pump modules and displays infusion data, drug name, rate, volume, and alerts on an LED color screen. Real-time pressure sensing monitors line occlusion. An integrated event log captures usage history and alarms for safety documentation and performance review. Guardrails safety software uses drug libraries and clinician-defined limits to reduce infusion-related errors. The module integrates with hospital EMR systems for automated documentation. The Alaris 8100 is used across ICU, medical/surgical, emergency, oncology, pediatric, and perioperative settings. Clinicians can program bolus delivery and titrate infusions in real time.
