BD Alaris PCA 8120

The BD Alaris PCA 8120 is a syringe-based infusion module for the Alaris PC Unit (Model 8015), designed to deliver patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) and continuous infusion therapy. The module receives drug and dose parameters from the PC Unit's central controller and LCD display, and delivers medication via barcode-identified Alaris PCA syringes. It supports three delivery modes: continuous infusion, PCA demand dosing, and clinician-administered bolus. Dose accuracy is maintained to ±5% typical. The module integrates with BD's Guardrails Suite MX drug library for dose verification and safety monitoring. The 8120 communicates alarms through LED indicators on the module itself and alerts on the central PC Unit display, covering occlusion, empty syringe, cassette disengagement, and dose-limit conditions. Power is supplied through the PC Unit. Compatible with standard Alaris PCA syringes.
