The Smiths Medical CADD-PCA 5800R is an infusion pump designed for patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) in hospital and outpatient settings. It delivers a basal infusion of pain medication and allows patients to self-administer additional boluses via a pendant button. The 5800R adds clinician-activated bolus capability and automatic delivery resumption after high-pressure alarms (the earlier CADD-PCA 5200 required manual restart).
